If you have ever played either gully cricket or cricket at your apartment or colony level, I am sure you must have noticed the following things:

1. There will always be atleast one guy who can't just wait to start batting. This guy grabs the bat, even before the toss, calls the toss even if he is not the captain, as if he knows for sure that the toss result will always be for his batting side.

2. There will always be some people who just can't stop arguing about anything. It can range from what is considered as a four to a bollower's action.

3. There will always be an umpire.. but nobody listens to him anyways.

4. Some times the wicket keeper himself is the umpire. And I do not really know how that works.

5. The space available for playing is not really an issue. Gully cricket can be played with any amount of space.

6. There always will be some people who come ALWAYS late for the match, and most of the times these are the people who keep the bat and ball in their custody, and moreover claim batting, immediately after coming.

7. The team that bats first will always be trying to find reaons to stop the match when the other team is batting.

8. If it is a bet match, the losing team never bothers to pay and in this kind of scenarios, somehow you end up in the winning team. But when you are in the losing team, for some reason you always end paying your share.

9. Hindi is the most common language used when playing this kind of cricket, and there will always be some people who do not grasp this vital point, and there by lose all arguments.

10. A cricket match without arguments is non-existent.

11. The ball will ALWAYS go to the exact place where you do not want to go. For example, if you say nobody should hit above a wall, it is GUARANTEED that the ball will go above that wall. And in most cases, there will be ONE designated guy, who is the rescue plan, who will bring the ball from ANYWHERE.

12. Only the guy most interested in palying will buy the balls, ALWAYS! he should be glad that rest of the people have agreed to play with him.

13. If you do not make your mark in the first 2 matches as a good bowler or a batsman, you will forever be fielding in all subsequent matches.

14. People with spectacles are automatically discrimanted against being a good batsman or bowler, unless they are persisent enough to show that they can do better.

15. If you have experience playing with glazed ball, you are automatically qualified for all bet matches, even though it was only ONE match where all you did was fielding.

I know there might be lot of other things.. feel free to add them in comments section.
